This is a FULL DAY online INNOVATIONS course. Coaching happens whenever we are teaching and training someone to do something. This course intends to help DSPs understand the process of Job Coaching as well as to demonstrate the tools used to teach and train. This course will explore tools and strategies used to coach, such as learning style assessments, task analyses, chaining systems, job analyses, systematic training techniques, and how to fade prompting levels. Participants will learn through hands-on practice, lecture and videos. 

This is a great course for any staff supporting people in OPWDD services.

This FULL DAY online INNOVATIONS  training is a revised version of Creating Connections. Building relationships with local businesses and non-profits is key to helping people get volunteer experiences, internships, and competitive jobs. We want to make the best possible impression to ensure success for individuals and future opportunities. Preparation is the key word here, so we discuss how and what to prepare using brand new tools. We cover what to include in your business tool kit, how to get businesses talking and then follow up with real solutions. Participants will have a better understanding of how to identify potential contacts, how to speak the language of business and how to build an effective network of relationships.   

This course is designed for employment and day habilitation staff responsible for developing employment or volunteer opportunities. This is a great course for staff delivering Community Prevoc, Pathway to Employment, ETP, Supported Employment, and Day Habilitation services.

Join us for a FULL DAY online INNOVATIONS course as we walk through a step-by-step process of Job Development. This is a detailed training that introduces the new OPWDD Job Development Plan as we take people through the final steps to employment. The plan is a core piece of our services and is the new standard for ETP and SEMP. We need businesses to be part of the process, so we offer strategies and tactics to research and engage effectively with businesses. Making a good impression is paramount, so we also discuss how to properly prepare the individual from initial meetings to on-boarding and coaching. Finally, we cover different job development tools, approaches, and agency considerations. The participants should leave the training armed with the tools and confidence to make great community outcomes.  We strongly encourage you to take Basics of Business Engagement prior to taking this course. 

This training is designed for ETP or SEMP staff.
